OVERDUE CNY POST!

A very belated CNY post!
Hi!!!!
Just a little update :
1) Lessons came to a standstill coz it's CNY! I'm trying out what they say about unschooling....trying to just chill and not worry too much about progress.
2) The other day, the kids are as usual bickering and in my anger, I said 'If I die in a short while from now, it'll be all the 4 of your fault' (horrid me I know, but I'm getting so fed up). This sentence have no impact on the boys but....for Venice, it left a rather deep scar on her. She will suddenly be quiet and shed a few tears then say she doesn't want me to die. This happened on and off throughout the day for a few days. Note to self : do not talk bs in front of kids (esp. V who's super duper sensitive).

Ok don't feel like writing anymore, till the next time.....

JALAN-JALAN TIMES SQUARE KL

As usual, we were busybodies following the hubs to work. Since it's CNY, there's lots of activity going on! Andrick wants ice cream, so here we are!
Our first llaollao!

After that, we walked around the area admiring the decos. Was very tempted to buy a qipao for Venice, it's only RM20! But resisted the urge, since we're homeschooling now, have to save a bit for their education.

MIA - A QUICK UPDATE

Wow, time passes so quickly! A quick glimpse and it's already 1+ year since I'm here.

Anyway, just a quick update...

Since the beginning of this year, Andrick has been quite good and manageable. Not like last year where he don't know what discipline is and would go beserk at malls where I'll be like a mad woman running all around chasing a toddler.

He's still the lil' devil but now he understands when I'm being firm and would tone down his naughtiness hehe.

Venice on the other hand is becoming more whiny and emo. I guess it's a phase that every child has to go through, but let's hope it'll be over soon. The two big boys are as usual stuck to their devices, as addicted as ever. Nic is more at the present while Bryan has his head up his phone heaven.

He had to take out all his toys to teman him sleep...
Bryan's 12th Birthday! Star Wars theme done by daddy...and this lil' boy has to photobomb koko's birthday shot.
Family pic!
Kung fu fighting....or macarena?
Some of my favourite shots are not beautifully captured ones...it's candid ones like this that shows their happiness all over.
The prince of a thousand face...and I really mean thousands....coz that's how many role he wants to play in his life. Hope you achieve it all, my son.

Nowadays, I usually stayed at home with Andrick while the kokos and cheche are at school and Wei is at gym. We just hang out quietly, either eating or watching cartoons and I'll be online most of the time hehe. I find it therapeutic.... #excuses

While typing this, Andrick was telling me:

A : Mommy! Bird fly! Mommy, tum tum dut dut.

When I asked him what is that, he said Pappa George (his language for Peppa Pig/George)

Venice's sports day...where she dance to Ola Bola to start of the event

It was a flurry of activities on May with Mother's Day and Nic, Venice and my birthday!

Me and my kids!

All of us...this is actually just Mother's Day celebration for mom. Sis bought the cake.

There's actually something soothing about tucking your kids (and those still pretending to be a kid) to bed.
Another happy moment between sister and brother...I love

One more!

Venice insisted on Daddy using the massage chair....and Daddy is so happy (geli) hahahaha!

OTHER PEOPLE'S JOY, MY SUFFERING

I don't know why but I hate it...it's always me who's super emo about practically everything!

This CNY, I'm super sensitive about seeing other people's family gathering pics. It makes my own life stick out like a sore thumb. It's not that I don't have a family; in fact, I have 2 families (me and Wei's).

But both doesn't give me an ounce of the warmth that I see in other people's pics. Yes, I may be pessimistic but this post is solely for me to purge out the bad and absorb the good, so please leave me be.

First, my in-law's. I thank bro and sis-in-law for painstakingly cooking for us. But the atmosphere is not a warm get-together. We hardly every communicate other than the customary enquiry. So dinner is eaten with just the occasional question and one word answer. So awkward! Dinner is on the front porch with mossies and no fan (you know how warm the weather is during CNY).

Second, my own family. Every year, the first few days will be taken up with relatives. If I want to see them, will have to find them at relative's house. That's all fine if they are all gathering at one of their houses. But these few years, they like to just go to shopping complexes and 'lepak' there.....how do I join them with a bunch of kids walking aimlessly around a complex. Don't get me wrong I go window shopping too. But it's a different story when we have to go like a 'rombongan' and follow a lead. What's more, the kids will be bored stiff!

And what I'm most afraid of is.....if this is the scenery every year, what will my kids think of CNY? The culture will be lost to them. To them, CNY is just a boring day with nothing interesting. What to do? I can't simply create a nice and warm setting.

A NEW YEAR 'CHAPARANG' POST......

Well, what have I been doing since the new year?

Hehe...for a start, I've been craving for a daughter. So, he will have to do.
And Koko's been real good to the sis and bro....playing horsie with them!
Went to check out IOI City Mall...
And since Wei's working here, took the opportunity to go shopping!
So here's what I've been up to....one more day to enjoy then it's another year of time battling again once the kids start school.

2014 - MY YEAR

It's true when they say that the older you get, time passes by faster! I barely have time to take a breather and that's it.....the year has passed.

Anyway, this is the customary year in review post....
My baby went to school!

We organized a *spy theme* party for Bryan
Then one month later, we also put together a *My Little Pony* party for Venice at her school!

Venice looking shy of all the attention...
Before this, Venice also had her first Sports Day where she cried buckets....
Had some pretty good family bonding time...which is priceless!
Realized Andrick had some potential being the next Korean heartthrob!
Brought Andrick to the zoo for the very first time!
My Granny.....

Having fun with 3D art....
And poof!...just like that, one year had gone....
Went to Jump Street
And Andrick's putting on a show of his own at Jump Street....standing on a bin
This is considered our X'mas meal....coz we don't get to have one

This little critter had his first haircut!

At one glance, I thought that my picture doesn't look as interesting as other people's but to me, these are the precious memories that I will hold dear to me....where nothing can replace. Thank you Wei, Juan, Hao, Venice and Andrick for a spectacular year and hopefully with many more to come!

OUR LONG OVERDUE VACATION!

We are so desperate for a holiday (rather I am...hehe) that we planned for one first day of the school holiday. Yup...we went to Penang for a 3D2N vacay...yay!

Before that, I searched and searched for a nice and afforadable hotel coz I want to find somewhere where we can enjoy without constantly having to travel out (the reason is obviously a very active baby by the name of Andrick). As by such glorious coincidence, I managed to book a room at Parkroyal Penang for a very cheap price! It's only about RM300 after tax, cheap right?

We we start our journey bright (actually it's still dark lol) and early after a McD brekkie. After having a lunch of CKT in town, we headed straight for the resort. Luckily, the room's vacant...so we checked in early. The kids can't wait to check out the beach once checked in. And they loved the resort! So we threw on our beach clothes and headed straight down...
Andrick being a bit scared of the sand and sea
Venice too a bit apprehensive of the waves
Bryan taking a pic with Venice
Wei taking a dip in the sea
Wei said that the sea's quite deep though...so no going into it. The kids though are just content playing by the beach.
A rare moment of peace
I simply love this picture of them playing sand...or rather playing Andrick lol.
Sand wording courtesy of Nic
Andrick seemed content to just sit in the sand and let the kokos build a moat around him
Venice calling out to the sea....
And Venice Chow made a new friend....it's called Waferrrrrr.......here she is calling out to 'wafer' (a nickname for wave lol).
Water rushing in!
This is the reason for their moat.....to see the bubbly seawater filling it up. Nice!
Ahhhhhhh.......
And while the boys (and girls) play, I can finally put up my feet.....literally.

Some pool pics...
A puffer fish in the pool...
Andrick relaxing on the bed after a tiring day...
Venice's customized brekkie!
Strolling in the garden after a sumptious breakfast...
Venice and her 'sand castle'.......
A pic with the little bum bum.....
Some of the stuff we consumed there
Penang...we'll be back!
Overall, it's a pleasant and relaxing trip...we seriously contemplated extending our stay but held back last minute.
